Hello like minded Friends, At long last the the misguided US administration has admitted the threat that a super storm exists. They are planning to create a satellite super storm tracker, at a cost of $7.6 billion.
It is a great pity they didn't do this 7 years ago at the start of their admin, instead of starting the Iraq War on misinformed intelligence, which has been costing the lives of thousands of people on all sides, and costing the Tax payer over $2 billion a day, plus the Afghan war.
All this has resulted in the present financial world crisis, loss of jobs, homes and credit facilities, and it seems some people in the USA still want more of the same, Wake Up America.
In the Film "The Day After Tomorrow" which is credited in the book "The Coming Global Superstorm" by Art Bell and Whitley Strieber, it is indicated that there was a lack of international technical contact world wide enabling them to be forewarned of its effect as it happened, in different parts of the world. There was also a complete lack of provision of food, protection, shelters and emergency services for the population.
Governments worldwide spend trillions on wars and killing people, very little on natural disasters and their effect, and helping the long term survival of the human race, other species and the environment. I am hoping that when Barack Obama, is in the White House, that he will set an example for Americans and the rest of the world, to begin to do something about the above issues.
My family and I lived through the second world war in London, UK and were at least provided with shelters and emergency services, a great deal more will be needed to deal with this and other natural disasters, such as being hit by an asteroid, there have been a few near misses, plus climate change, which has been caused in part by us and those people we elect, in the first place.
We all need to start to change in word, thought and our deeds, if our race is going to survive. More Later, Sincerely, Mike, Tenerife, Canary Islands.

There are many folks gettin' their ars kicked bythe declining world "situation" and just maybe "they" will get the point that we reap what we sow and.. care. I don't think things are "hot" enough for the elite on the golf course to quit doing what they do..we will see soon if the trend changes won't we? Many years aro, as a kid, the Canary islands were a prized "contact" via ham radio...some memories!...
