HOLISTIC GOVERNANCE IN 2008

ARE TODAY'S RELIGIONS MAN MADE, AS A POWER TOOL?
Back to Full Blog

Hello Like Minded Friends,

Each of the orthodox religions started out as one faith, and after their formation, they started to be divided and controlled by mainly men, who were seeking power, using whatever means was available, to get it, which included the sword, war, conquest, and forced conversion to their way of thinking, by dogmatic thought, word and deed, thereby trying to control the lives of million of people, to satisfy their need for power, under the guise of teaching us their version of the true faith.

This has been marked down in our history books, by incidents of burning, torture, conquest, not peace, love, unity and harmony. Are todays religions teaching us spiritual values, I and many others think they are are dividing us further away from the true Spiritual Path.

So we could truthfully say that many, if not all aspects of orthodox religion has been the cause of conflict, for thousands of years, do we want to alter this control, in this year of change 2008?

This has happened in Christianity, Judaism, Islam, and many of the Eastern faiths,(I follow the Middle Way of Buddhism) and this is continuing to divide individuals, groups, nations and countries today, and the misguided leaders try to control the people we elect to govern us, plus others, who have a vested interest in the getting help from politicians, global warming and other related subjects are examples. Mike,
I feel that religion began with shaman and witch doctors at the earliest dawn of human existence. It was and is a way to control society and preserve the status quo through fear and intimidation. The Tao is available to all beings without the necessity of organization and tribalism. We need no priests or buildings to follow the path to enlightenment and realization of the self, and as a consequence, "god". Religion is little more than a bludgeon one tribe uses to crush another. Religion was born in darkness with fear as a mother and ignorance as a father. I find it very difficult to accept all this "belief" in a dogma that has been perverted, edited and rewritten throughout history. Humanity must shed the mantle of religion, all religion, and put on a garment of secular design free from artificial laws that ring hollow with "thou shalts" and "thou shalt nots".

Mike:

An observant post Mike. We all know there is a problem in river city but finding a solution beyond a "Gnashing of teeth".

I reject organized religion as a control device as well but I also see, there nestled among the sticks and stones of Bible, a BUDDHA.

The Buddha involved is Jesus. He sits solid on a message of Love and Eternity. As it is written, Love thy neighbor as thyself, therein the entire law is fulfilled both man's law and God's law.

He also speaks of the "middle way". Now a Buddha always has purpose and that is to "set where three rivers meet"...a very turbulent place.

Now hear this, anyone who professes the Bible as the word of God, must accept the word of Christ or be labeled a hypocrite!

But the "fact" that a Buddha sits in the middle of the storm as Christ does allows those of us who believe in a loving middle way to detect the "Christian hypocrites" in the bunch! Those not following the middle way or at least acknowledging it's moral authority are gradually being exposed for the fakes and the frauds that they are. Not only that, ya know where you can find many of them on Sunday mornings. I'd be scared shit-less if I had the light turned on me and I was pretending. As the "Truth" of Christ is circulated u will see some shake ups Remember, by definition, "Christ is a Buddha" and Love the same Buddha message of peace....Regards Pop
