Hello Like Minded Friends, I am a European trying to keep up my support for Senator Barack Obama, to win the election. I read that it seems likely that what we UK citizens call a D. notice has been placed on the US press, on any further investigation, on what is being called the "Pentagon Propaganda Scandal" who I understand were allowed one small report, and since then nothing.
Instead the press has given a lot of time and space to the overstated and damaging remarks against Barack Obama, by a certain Rev. Person, so called, which is not only giving an advantage to the Ex-First-Lady, in the minds of some of the votors, re her bid for returning to the White House, but it is also is damaging to the Democratic Party as a whole, thereby giving a further advantage to the opposing party and its Candidate.
This sort of action, as we all know, has the habit, like the boomerang, of returning to the sender, with resultant damage. Can anyone help me with answers, regarding this issue? More Later. Sincerely, Mike Tenerife

We have a big problem in this country with access to real news. Much of it is the fault of the major providers which are all owned by war-profiteering corporations that love the war because they make huge profits. They have no vested interest in telling the American people the truth about this illegal and brutal offensive against an innocent people. We get very little "real" information as to the prosecution of the war much less the "real" reasons for going which as any thinking person knows, was totally for oil.We must also blame the American public which has, sadly, been dumbed down by a plethora of idiotic television shows and celebrity nonsense that seems to mollify an already incurious populace. Missing blond girls and celebrity tarts dominate the "news" cycle and real investigative reporting is almost non-existant. The news departments were merged with the entertainment departments of the major networks and all we get are "infomercials" selling whatever the Bush administration wants to be sold. The media is in league with the government in a way that would make the Founding Fathers shriek with horror. Fascism is alive and well in the United States and I see little relief in sight. One needs merely to understand that this intellectual wasteland populated with bumper-sticker consumers who voted for this Shrub for President twice would'nt be able to recognize the truth even if it were shouted from the roof tops. We are in a sad way and I only hope we have an election and not martial law after Cheney disastrously bombs Iran. Wish us luck.
